The Murraylands, Riverland and South East Local First Nations Voice spent a day in Victor Harbor, meeting with community and holding their third Local Voice meeting for this year.
The community engagement held on 30 July brought people together to talk about the three focus areas for the Voice in 2025
Community spoke about the impact of the cost of living and housing crisis, the link between employment income and rental costs, balancing ability to work with ability to care for family members with disabilities, and hard choices being made about where money goes. There is a call for community connections, particularly youth programs all year round and a community bus service to connect Victor Harbor people with Murray Bridge services and supports.
Look out for Voice Members in the Murraylands, Riverland and South East region over coming months, where there will be opportunities to share your views. Engagements are being planned for Mount Gambier in October and Murray Bridge later in the year. You can also bring matters to the attention of your Local Voice Member at any time using their online form.
